In hockey, assists count towards a player's statistics, and there's glory in being a player who supports others to score. But that's a hard lesson for some children to learn. Based on the artist/author's experiences as a child playing hockey in moccasins, this is a beautiful picture book with a strong message about cooperation and teamwork. In this story, it's not the child with physical limitations who overcomes through effort, so much as the child with bullying tendencies who experiences some personal growth. I find this refreshing and laudable! Because it's the bully who really needs to change.… (más)
