The author examines how second wave feminism's initial efforts to battle portrayals of violence against women in the media slowly morphed into an alliance with the religious right to battle pornography. This ultimately led to the demise of second wave feminism and the rise of sex-positive feminists. The book is thorough, and although it becomes at times a tedious blow by blow description of the twists and turns of this history, it is still readable. If you are interested in feminism during this time period and its efforts to raise the consciousness of Americans to violence against women especially in media, this is the book to read.… (más)
