People's money situations vary. This book is aimed toward people who have very little money. Personally, I am not there and I do not need to cut back on absolutely everything. I don't find many tips that I will actually follow. I certainly agree on "the curse of credit". I will however not move to a mobile home, start raising pigs or rinse my mouth with hydrogen peroxide instead of going to the dentist (a tip mentioned three times in the book). A large portion of the book is recipes but a cookery book is better for that. I enjoyed reading the book but I didn't learn much new that is useful to me.… (más)

I thought it was very well written. Topics insightful, relevant and typical of high school YA. I loved Lucas. Thought Abby was a brat. The characters and the situations they find themselves in are perfectly portrayed, I thought. I wasnt riveted but I kept coming back because I did make a connection with the Lucas and Abby and needed closure, which of course, I got.

2 stars with love...Maybe I'm not in the right target audience for this book. Taking into consideration that this is an ARC, there is a lot of editing that still needs to be done. The author should consider cutting some of the content because I think it will give the story more focus. Also the characters could use a little more development. Noah seemed more like a teenage boy than a 25 year old man. Maddy was filled with anger and angst but I didn't understand why until late in the story. I enjoyed the second half more than the first. I get where she was going with her story. A great concept that needs a little more work. I think Annie has a unique style that will only get better with practice. *hugs*… (más)

This is a story of childhood friends who grew apart and then come back together. I love how strong Sky was and I really love how her art wasn't just mentioned once and then forgotten. Her art is a big part of her life and left me wanting to see her paintings. When we first saw interaction between Sky and Jackson I thought I was going to hate him, but he proved me wrong. He was a teenager still dealing with heavy stuff that lead him to be the way he is. At first I thought something would happen between Jared and Sky and I am really glad nothing did. I think it would have taken the story somewhere else. I am happy with the way things played out. I just wish Jackson would have gotten rid of Amber sooner.. That bitch really needed to be put in her place. But I think I would like to know more about her too. Like why is she the way she is, just to get a glimpse in the bad girl's head. Torn is full of teenage angst and shows all of the characters growing up throughout the story. Though they all still had moments where I wanted to shake them all, however that is part of being human, making mistakes and learning from those mistakes.

My favorite thing is that this story isn't farfetched. Everything that happened was real. That end.. Oh that end has me wanting to know what is up a certain person's sleeve! Not a cliffhanger per se but still leaves you with questions and sets up for the next book. Can't wait to see what else is in store for everyone!
