Caroline B. Brettell

The title of this book is pretty misleading: before I read it, I thought it would be a dead bore. In fact, it's one of the best books on migration, especially for those new to the topic (as I was when I read it), that I've come across. The chapters are written by migration scholars from a variety of disciplines, including sociology and economics among others, outlining how different disciplines approach studying migration and what can be learned from the different approaches. It's really a pretty fascinating read and not anywhere near as dry and academic as the title makes it sound.… (más)
