Grief by Liam Brennan is a collection of five short stories that explore the question; What would you do if the the world was weeks away from destruction?

Would you uphold justice when humanity dipped into despair? Would you take your frustration out on the people you held responsible for the unfolding events or would you end it all before the inevitable disaster unfolded?

Those are just a few of the scenarios that unfold in Grief and I think that Liam Brennan captured the raw emotions and uncertainty that you would expect to see if the doomsday clock was counting down to the end of everything.

My only complaints are with the fourth story as I really wanted to see what the anchorman would do after the lights went off for the last time and, at the end of the novella, I was a bit miffed that we didn't get to see the cataclysmic event that everyone feared.

All in all, I thought Grief was a rather enjoyable read.

A well written collection of stories pertaining to the end of the world, global destruction, and the mindset of various characters and how they deal with it, priorities, routines, acceptance. The author portrays a very believable senario in all of the stories, a quick and easy read when you are in the mood for dark and gloomy. A thought provoking collection.

An interesting take on the end of the world through five different lives/stories. Less than 50 pages, this novella will send any reader hoping for a quick ending to this world. All five stories are recognizable to any reader, which makes it all the more fascinating. Every story has 10 stories with in it to keep the reader not only guessing but wanting more.

A short, thought provoking novella that will keep one guessing the end of each of the five stages of grief.

A comet is spreading toward Earth and no one is expected to survive the impact. Loosely following the 5 stages of grief put forth by Elizabeth Kublur Ross the book tells of the behavior of 5 different groups of people. The frightening reactions of people with nothing to lose and nothing to live for is thought provoking.
