Another crap book from Brady. Sam is an alcoholic psychologist at a metal institution who drinks with her patients in her office, lets her boyfriend beat her up, & cheats to find validation with men she sleeps with, and then throws fits when her co worker doesn't give her enough attention. This book was written in 3-5 page chapters with dates and times. It drug on forever and really didn't get better. IS the institution staff just stupid to let an employee break rules with no repercussions and not really good for the patients you are treating. IF this was supposed to be about mental health it was severely lacking… (más)

This book is written in "Now" and "Then" chapters. Peter is a remorseless, uncaring, lying lawyer. Groomed to take over a law firm, trying to pretend he cares about his wife, x wife, & son. He's implicated in a murder & there's too much information the author has to keep you guessing on if he's guilty or not. Book was too long with too many dead ends. It was a keep guessing but I felt let down in the end.

Peter Caine is a merciless Manhattan defense attorney who may seem to be charming on the outside. However, beneath the mask, he is a cold and heartless man who doesn't care about other people's feelings. He doesn't even harbor any feelings for his own son Jamie, and he is less than pleased when he has to take him in after Peter's ex-wife dies. But, his life will change dramatically when his ex-lover, the daughter of the Manhattan DA is murdered and Peter is one of the suspects.

This wasn’t a big mind bender for me. I had it worked out pretty early on. I didn’t think some things were realistic-Sam’s continued drinking causes problems but nothing long lasting. Then she just stops drinking but with no assistance. Also, she is a mental health professional whose patients have been mandated to be there and yet she “doesn’t understand the legal system”. Some of these things strained belief. If you have something else to read, read that instead.
