I found this book interesting, but I think the subtitle is somewhat misleading: apart from My Friend Ken in chapter 23, I don't think there's much original research, and other chapters pull in content covered in other books, television programmes, or at very least newspaper articles. What this book does is to bring together a collection of stories about queer men in the two world wars, focusing on more ordinary people rather than famous people.
