A Home for Hope! by Margie Blumberg is a delightfully sweet book with some gorgeous, colourful illustrations.

Hope is a puppy, introduced to us during some April showers. A hero comes by to save her, making sure she doesn't get lost in the rain. Over the course of this book, Hope goes through the process of finding a home! What an exciting time for an animal!

This story is very sweet and the colourful illustrations make the book fun. It shows Hope and her soon to be family facing struggles at the same time, and shows that many people face the same emotions. But then, eventually, the sun comes out and people have a great day!

Overall, a wonderful children's book that I highly recommend!

Four out of five stars.

Mark does not want the photo of his great-grandfather Avram of Russia hanging outside his room. His grandfather tells Mark the story of Avram and his father's immigration from Russia to the United States. A special shofar's horn is part of the family's heritage that plays an important part in this story. It is nice to see the change that his grandfather's story brought about in Mark's way of thinking.

a well-illustrated chapter book that affirms the values of family, tradition, and continuity. The sounding of the shofar during the High Holidays is an important part of the plot.
