This was a good biography of a much-loved figure in American theater and television history. Arlene Francis was one of the greats. This biography proves it. In this book we learn about Arlene's early life, her entrance into the world of show business, her iconic time on the popular game show "What's My Line?", and much, much more.

I think it was high-time somebody wrote a biography about this lovely lady. However, it felt a bit incomplete to me. Today, people will know her from the "What's My Line?" YouTube channel, which features that excellent game show. It's how I really came to appreciate Arlene, though I had seen her in few other things before stumbling onto the show. The show went on for a record amount of years. The book, though, doesn't really talk about her relationships with the core cast, who were her good friends. Two members of the cast died during the run of the show (one under very mysterious circumstances), and this was never even mentioned. I know this wasn't a book about the show, but these people were highly interactive with Arlene. The book never even mentioned the cookbook that Arlene put her name to.

It's still a good book that does justice to a wonderful lady.… (más)
