In my youth I collected pictures of Senators, when other kids were collecting baseball cards. I owned quite a number of Congressional Directories, and made lists of Senators based on seniority. So I was aware of Senator Gore, who was one of the first two U.S. Senators from Oklahoma. He is the grandfather of Gore Vidal. I did no post-reading note on this biography, but I know I liked it because it told the life story of an interesting Senator.
