Thanks to the author for giving me a copy of her book to read.

The blurb for the book pretty much tells the details of the novella, but I’ll include part of it here for background-

Nordic Liosálfar Svala and Viggo have been in love for a thousand years. After two years apart Svala turns on her TV to find Viggo in the public light, posing as a movie star. She tries to seek him out and the events that follow forces some deep buried secrets to surface...

Svala and Viggo have spent a hundred lives together over the last thousand years. As Liosálfar, Nordic light fairies, their job is to do good and to uphold a balance in the mortal world. A balance, often compromised by the Döckálfar, Nordic dark fairies.

But even good fairies need incentive.

I really enjoyed this book. It’s like an appetizer to a fantastic meal that has me hungry for more. I was sucked into the story as soon as I started reading. The author did an amazing job with the tension and angst; I didn’t want to put the story down.

Loads of questions are running through my mind about the story like, why is Viggo suspicious about Tyrm? Who is the mysterious ‘her’? And is ‘her’s’ daughter, also Viggo’s daughter? If so what happened since Svala and Viggo are eternal/immortal lovers that are crazy for each other? How can the fairies take over another person’s body when they are given another assignment? Or do they just appear as a family in a neighborhood with other fairies as their family members? I really want to know the answers to the many questions brought up in the book.

This story deserves five stars, but I have to give it four stars just because it’s too short. I hope the next part to this story is longer. Can’t wait until it comes out!

What I liked about it:
Interesting concept that the story's based on-both sides hire people and offer incentives.
the sweet love scenes going on between the MC.
the very real possibility that Trym might be working for the dark side.
the mystery behind the lady in the jewel shop.

What I didn't like:
there was no explanation about the two factions of fairies other than one was bad and the other good. I would have liked some info about them and who led them.

Nordic Delight!

The Author invited me to read her series and I jumped at the chance to read something that wasn't about sparkling vampires and pectorially advantaged young men that turn into werewolves, or vampires, period. Nordic Fairies grabs you, pulls you in, and you are thrown into the middle of something - a love story and a battle, perhaps? Fortunately, Ms. Berg gives you enough dialogue and exposition to keep your interest piqued and the story moving. What is the history of Svala and Viggo? How did they meet, become faeries and why? What are the origins of the dark and light orders of faeries, the Liosalfar and Dockalfar? What are these assignments? These are the questions that came to mind as I read and I was very glad Ms. Berg didn't answer them right away - she hinted at things, teased, and the writing did not bog you down with unnecessary details or information; she allows the reader to use their imagination.

I'm looking forward to the rest of the series and I can't wait to find out if I'm wrong about Svala and Viggo.

I was kindly given a free e-book from Saga Berg. I must say that the plot seems really interesting, I like when mythology is mixed into our world. The writing style's good and the story captured me in that way that I wanted to find out what happens next.
