I read and enjoy some books that could be categorised as "chick lit", but not this one. As I approached the Nancy Pearl point I wondered whether I wanted to keep reading and I decided that it was interesting enough to keep going. In retrospect I should have stopped. At my age, time seems somehow more precious than in years gone by, and I have a big "to read" list to get through before I die.
This book is a somewhat hackneyed exploration of the possibility of choosing or rejecting parenthood. The characters seemed rather shallow and two-dimensional. I found the story to be quite unrealistic ... but I'm not a 30 year old woman, so maybe other readers may find greater resonance with their own lives.… (más)
