Very funny and clever look at the mysterious world of teenage boys through the eyes of year 9 Chloe and her 3 friends, Sally, Amy and Gemma. In between dodging horrible Queen Beeyatch Maggie and her Facebook taunts and schoolyard bullying, Chloe decides to set up a boywatching spreadsheet to try and understand how the opposite sex operate. Boys are graded on being Kid and Animal Friendly, reliability, humour and all sorts of diverse traits. This is in preparation for snaring the right one for the annual dance at Chloe's all girl school aka the"the Snog Fest". As well as compiling this guide, Chloe must deal with her own family's problems, the drag of attending an all-girl school with a typically insane lot of teachers, and wondering whether Albert, the scruffy dog downstairs got the Principal's prize poodle pregnant.
Hilarious and accurate look at first dates, friendship and families. Recommended for its laugh out loud moments!
Stand out parts are Chloe's observations of her own and her friend Gemma and Sally's families, and her recollections of each of the classes at school is spot on as I teach at ( and attended) an all girls school. (In fact I was picturing my own school in my head as I read the book!)… (más)
