This is an excellent book, within the genre of erotic chastisement, with a credible period plot (set at the time of the dissolution of the monasteries). It is very well crafted, with many unexpected twists and turns as its heroine, a wilful teenage girl who rejects a forced marriage arranged by her cruel stepfather, suffers several harrowing adventures, including incarceration in a depraved convent and a disciplinarian castle.
