Seems to have the right amount of detail and my 7 year old granddaughter found it very interesting.

Blessed Miguel Pro is a short, readable biography of that Mexican Jesuit martyr, who was picked up in the aftermath of an assassination attempt he was not involved with and executed in a public showcase that made news around the world. But just who was Miguel, really? It turns out he was a family man who liked jokes and acting (something that came in handy after priests were banned in Mexico by the government). He joined the Jesuit order only to have to flee for his life along with his confreres and his own family due to the upheaval of the Mexican Revolution, and only returned home to Mexico after it looked like he might die, when a decline in his health meant that he might die anyway. But in spite of his health and the fact that being a priest was illegal, he made the most of it and did his best to serve the people as best he could. Until that is, he finally met his end at the end of a firing squad.

A nice introduction to one of the 20th centuries more well-known martyrs. Highly recommended for anyone with an interest in Mexican history, the Mexican Revolution, or 20th century saints.

Very good book. Good for any one taking an RCIA class. Easy to read and understand. explains the how and why of the sign of the Cross, postures, Holy Water and Oil, metals, scapulars, chaplets, rosaries, almost all sacramentals of the Catholic Church.

Covers lesser known saints, blessed and holy souls of the last two centuries. Reads easily and is fascinating. Was great to read when suffering and not feeling well enough for anything too intense or lengthy, as each selection is detailed but short enough, the length of a book chapter.

This book contains the stories of many un-sung saints and saints-to-be. There are pictures as well as stories in this book. Since reading this book, I have become aquainted with many more of my brothers and sisters in Christ. These stories are very inspiring because the children in the book died before the age of 21 and lived in the 21st century.

This bi-lingual book is about Blessed Miguel Pro, SJ. He was beatified as a martyr, but it is his heart, in addition to his blood, that marks his holiness. This booklet uses many of his own words to outline the message of Father Pro. His message is taken from the heart and soul of the Gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
