I was surprised by how thoroughly I was caught up in this book as I usually don't enjoy a story that focuses on one character's misfortune or pathology. This author managed to do this in a way that was sensitive and interesting. The writing was superb. The plot was exciting.

I horoughly enjoyed going along for this ride. The characters were written with a perfect depth to keep me interested but not involved in the story. There was a big logical lapse that kept me hoping for an amazing twist at the end - I'm not saying whether or not it materialized so you can enjoy the puzzle as much as I did. The pace and writing were good.

Brilliant: This was absorbing and skilfully written. A few typos and inconsistencies dropped my rating from five stars.

This beautifully written book takes its time to tell the story. There is plenty of detail, which at times frustratingly stalls the pace, but ultimately is a strength of the book as the detail makes the story real and natural.
