Victor is an Episcopal priest and Susan was a stay-at-home mom who was also wrote and spoke on in favor of pro-life movement. The marriage that Austin describes as a “Song of Solomon” marriage gradually becomes a cry of Job when Susan is diagnosed with a brain tumor. Austin frankly details his emotions as Susan becomes more and more dependent. Neither loses their faith, a grace which helps them endure years of hardship.
