I enjoyed reading about the little adventure the bird went on when she fell from her nest and became friends with a frog in the process, who showed her how to make a new nest for yourself.

Bear wishes he could fly like Little Bird. Little Bird longs to be big and strong like Bear. So Bear and Little Bird strike a bargain. Bear agrees to teach Little Bird how to be big and strong. And Little Bird agrees to teach Bear how to fly! Will the two best friends see their dreams come true?

this book is about a bear who wants to celebrate the moon birthday so he goes and asks him when his birthday is and what he wants, but really he is just hearing his echo. But the bear goes and gets the moon its gift and then gets to back in return. He then loses the hat and goes and tells the moon he lost his gift but so did the moon so they say that they love each other and happy birthday. I would use this in kinder, because it is a easy read but also super cute and quick.

"The Earth and I are friends." That should be the mission statement for humanity. #squadgoals

Asch expresses sweet sentiments beautifully.

Kids will have a lot of fun with the peep-through hole and all the animal actions.

Most suitable for pre-kindergarten students, a cute story in which a bear tries to play hide-and-seek with the moon. Our copy is a bit small and dimly printed, so may or may not work with a large story-time.

Bear sees a rainbow in the sky and, never having seen one before, thinks that the sky is on fire. Little Bird tells him that it is a rainbow and that they should look for the pot of gold that’s supposed to be at the end of the rainbow. But Bear is certain that the sky is on fire . . . .

When Bear throws a honey pot filled with water at the rainbow, what will happen? And what did Little Bird find in the tree at the end of the rainbow?

Bear’s adventures continue in this clever tale; his delightful response to “sky fire” is sure to captivate young readers [who are likely to know exactly what a rainbow is and that Bear is wrong about the sky being on fire]. Although the story offers no information on rainbows, it can become a perfect gateway for that discussion should the young reader wish to know more about rainbows.

I read this book for a read-aloud throughout a couple of weeks with my fifth grade classroom suggested by my CT. It follows the story of a young boy who is the "smartest" person in the world. He is trying to invent a spaceship (only out of cardboard) so that he can escape the planet away from his little brother. I like this book a lot because it is a very fun engaging story for all students and it also includes a lot of science in it. It talks a lot about different topics in science like force and math equations to help him solve his problems. In class, we read this book and watched a video about Caine's arcade. It actually inspired one of my students to create a basketball arcade game out of cardboard boxes like Caine and the main character. So, I would probably read this and implement it the same way. I would ask students to create something out of cardboard like a game.

I had completely forgotten about this book. I saw it on the bookstore shelf and instantly remembered having read it as a kid. It was a delight to be able to buy a copy for my nephews. I hope they enjoy it as much as I did!

Although Bear and Little Bird each get their wish, it isn’t quite in the way they expected. Young readers will enjoy seeing how the two friends work together and how they each get their wish. Love and friendship lie at the heart of this tender tale, a gentle fable for young readers on the joy of having friends, of working together to accomplish something, of keeping a promise. Creativity, imagination, and inventiveness take center stage in this delightfully charming tale.
