I do not get the appeal of this book. The illustrations are rough, and not all that great. The story line is absurd and kind of funny, but for some reason the kids want me to read this over and over again. Every time I think it's slipped into oblivion at the back of the bookshelf it comes back out to the front lines again.

I have to go read it now to stop the desperate sobbing at my knees!

One of my favorite read aloud books.

A fun version of the Gingerbread Man. Kids love shouting, "Stop that Pickle!"
