As I engage in my passion for sharing the words of the Lord, I would appreciate for all of my Sisters/Brothers-in-Christ to come to realize that our Lord and Savior desires for us to be kind to everyone, regardless of who they might be in our lives.
In pursuing Scripture, I've found several pertinent verses related to the topic of kindness.
Starting in COLOSSIANS 3:12 [NLT], we are given the following instructions:
"Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience."
Regarding the fruit of the Spirit in is all of us, GALATIANS 5:22-23 [NKJV] reminds us that:
[22] "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
[23] gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law."
The forgiveness of others, the need of which can be difficult as we attempt to show our kindness. The kindness of forgiveness contains a power like no other, but in doing so, the power resides in both the other individual and us. And we are reminded of this in EPHESIANS 4:32 [NKJV]:
"And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you."
The essence of kindness unto others, I feel, can best be exemplified by what we read in MATTHEW 7:12 [NLT]:
"Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets."
I wrote the above to illustrate the premise for Ms. Jill Archie writing her book. Breaking down ROMANS 12 by its verses, her readers get to understand what this Scripture is attempting to communicate. According to ROMANS, as human beings [Christians], we need to become living sacrifices to God [verses 1-2], serving Him with spiritual gifts [verses 3-8], and, lastly, to behave like Christians [verses 9-12].
I totally agree with what the author wrote as the beginning of the description for her book:
“With all of the craziness in the world today, it's time for us to be different, to be Christ-like, and to just be decent human beings.” Ms. Archie does a decent job breaking this chapter of Romans down to its crucial verses to illustrate the possibility of becoming decent humans by putting what she’s written about as part of their lives and daily routine.
For wanting to transform the lives of all of her readers, I’ve given Ms. Archie 5 STARS for her endeavor here.… (más)
