Interesting! But! This is the first book of a series but it does not captivate the reader. I don’t understand how this book would serve is a precursor to a series related to the Dark Ages. Yes, I get the part there is a cash of manuscripts and books to be discovered. But! I am not motivated to find out how this musician and his contemporary relationships feed into that story. In all but the most casual relationship between the two, I am not sure how those two story lines could be related.
