The Cowboy’s Bride by Barbara Ankrum
Story starts out on the wedding day of Isabella. Problem is she is a bit nervous and notices others reactions to her walking down the aisle. Her mother is high in politics and has invited all her friends and it's a huge gathering. Gina does her a favor and Isabella leaves the church and hops in the limo waiting to take them to their honeymoon. Problem is she has nothing but the clothes on her back, no id, no cash.
The limo driver, ex football player who owns the company will drive her to Seattle. He feels everybody has abandoned her...Things go smoothly til he gets a call from his family about their mother. He decides to take that journey home and Izzy is along for the ride, for now. Love how the plans with what to do for the ranch come into play and what things they can do right away...
Misunderstood conversations on the phone and now things aren't going so right...
Love travel, adventures, how to make things work, plans and how to make them work for the family. Great read, glad this is start of a new series and this is the first book...Can't wait to read more about the others.
Received this review copy from the publisher and this is my honest opinion.

Choose Me, Cowboy by Barbara Ankrum
Story starts out with Candy and she's made an agreement with others, NO dating for a month. She's a laid off kindergaren teacher.
Story also follows Finn who's living in a house that another rodeo rider gave him, him and his two twin kids. They go to school during the day and because of his work he has others to watch them.
They have a past together and she has a proposition for him....
She loves redoing the house to bring it out of the 80's.
Like conflicts and hwo they are resolved, never saw it coming.
Adult situations.

Eve and Ben are just friends. His first love is medicine, and it seems like nothing can compete with that, not even Eve. A chance encounter with a reindeer while Eve is driving him to the airport is the beginning of a chain of unlikely events that will change both their lives. This light-hearted romance has some serious issues that bring Ben up short. Taking to heart some unsolicited advice, he makes the most important decision of his life. This lovely Christmas story is much more than a rom-com, and illustrates what is really important. Well written with likable characters, it’s a perfect story for Christmas.

I've received a ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I didn't feel any particular connection to this novel, storyline, characters and content. Just a quick and easy romance that lacked a a little something, something to make it stand out. Nothing memorable.

Gemma is a reporter, an investigative journalist. So when she is sent to Marietta, Montana to write a fluff piece about the rise in marriages there, she feels punished. But she knows that she has to deliver or risk her job, so off she goes to do her best regardless. When she meets Noah, who used to be a Navy SEAL together with the groom of the next marriage in Marietta, he seems like a charming, albeit distracting way to get up close and personal with the wedding. But Gemma soon realizes that there is something Noah is hiding. And how can she not try and find out what that is?

Road to You is a nice, quick comfort read. Nothing much will surprise you here, and that's really not what you want from it anyway. There were a couple of things that didn't work so well for me, but overall, I enjoyed it.

**Special note: I received this ARC in exchange for a review**

This was a good book. I just wish it was longer because I would have enjoyed more material. Ali is a young girl in hiding. She doesn't carry credit cards or anything that is likely to leave a trace. She knows she is wanted and she wants to stay under the radar as long as possible.
Carrie is a young teenager on the cusp of womanhood. She's been through the emotional wringer, losing both of her parents at separate times in her life. Now she only has her uncle and a new housekeeper/cook as her support system. It's a tough time to be a kid.
Adam Wolfe is a bachelor who doesn't really know how to reach out to Carrie. All he knows is that he owns a camera that belongs to Ali. He strikes a deal with her: she will work for him to earn that camera back.

Like I said, it has the makings of a great story. I just wish it had more material because I think the set-up is good enough to extend the story line.

This was an easy, good read book. A romance, with just the right amount of mystery, fun, "goosebumps", innuendo, that kept me wanting to read more. It's a great read, with a few twists. I would recommend it.

The choices made and paths paved influence the cycle of life. Barbara Ankrum takes that philosophy and runs with it in Choose Me, Cowboy. Left behind with a broken heart, Kate decides never to fall in love again. Hurting Kate was the biggest regret of Finn's life. Coming face to face years later, he realizes everything that was lost and wants it back. This story is a wonderful look at how loving with an open heart has the power to heal and create stronger bonds.

Unsung Hero by Barbara Ankrum
Band of Brothers #1

This second chance at love romance tells the story of Antonio “Nio” Reyes and Becca Howard. It is also a rags to riches feel good story with one toppling from the heights and the other working his way up to the wealthy lifestyle he aspired to. The story was perhaps predictable but definitely left me feeling good about the two managing to finally achieve their HEA together, NOTE: I had the feeling more than once that there might be a prequel to this book as the “brothers” that Nio helped out (Navy SEALs in his brother’s SEAL team) are all mentioned and there is a back story for them that is not detailed OR there is another series this spins off from OR...something.

Thank you to NetGalley and Tule Publishing for the ARC – This is my honest review.

I got this book in exchange for a review. Gemma is on a journaling trip to a small town where there has been an increase in marriages. While she loves journalism, loving another person is a touchy subject for her. Noah comes to the same town for a friends wedding, running into Gemma while he is there. They both have secrets, secrets that could threaten their relationship if they are not willing to forgive each other. This book was a quick read for me because I wasn't able to put it down. It's a great love story between two mysterious characters. One who is fighting to be at the top of her game and in the spotlight and one who is fighting to get away from all the press and pressure subsequently put on him. Overall, the story is an intriguing concept.

I got this book for free from EarlyReviewers and I really enjoyed it. It was a quick read and predictable (as romances tend to be), but I thought it was worth reading. If you want a book that won't take long to read and is a sweet romance, this is a good choice.

It was the second book in a series, but I didn't feel like I missed anything skipping the first one - I didn't realize it was book 2 until I was adding it to Goodreads.

This story is between Noah,an ex-seal and Gemma, an investigative Reporter. Barbara has captured the emotions beautifully. Rarely in love stories we find what the guy is going through. Looking forward to read the other parts of this series.

I received an advance copy of this book from Library Thing in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I enjoyed this book. If you like nice romantic stories with a little intrigue then you will enjoy this book. it also has a teenager who has experienced too much loss in her life and her uncle needs help in helping her cope. This is a standalone book which is another reason to like it. I read a lot so if I can remember what a book is about enough to write a review, then it was an interesting read.

The book was very predictable but I still enjoyed it. The "relationship" was pretty quick moving and hard to believe they fell in love that quickly but again I still enjoyed it. I was disappointed with the speed on the end, we romance lovers are always looking for the romance.

I had not read any of the previous books and realized this said bok 4 but decided you read regardless. I'm glad I did. It is a great stand alone and I didn't feel like I was missing anything. Some twists with a little mystery with enough romance to make you root for the couple to get together!

REVIEW: The town is like walking into a Christmas card. It had been the home of her late husband and now it would be the place of his final celebration. Holly is here to meet with the men of his old unit. She has a plan that would let her take control of her life. “Which leads me to lesson number four hundred and thirty-nine: Don’t rely on any man to make you happy.” Trey has a different plan and he only has a week to make it happen. Love and a little magic sparkle in this heartwarming story. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.

DESCRIPTION, NOT REVIEW: After nine, lonely years as a military wife, Holly McGuire has returned to her late husband’s home town of Marietta, Montana, to finally close that chapter of her life and begin again. She’s spent the last year rediscovering herself and she’s sworn off military men. All she wants is a child of on her own—no strings attached. But her plans are threatened when old, unwanted sparks ignite between her and her husband’s one-time best friend.

Buttoning up the past isn’t what Trey Reyes has in mind when he welcomes Holly to town. Secretly in love with her since day one, his old vow to his friend to watch over her, come what may, doesn’t include enabling a terrible idea. As the men of their old unit—the Band of Brothers—gather to honor her husband, Trey must take one last stand to win her heart and prove Holly wrong about him. Christmas in Marietta, with all the trimmings, may be just the ticket.

A Little Christmas Magic by Barbara Ankrum

Marietta, Montana is a place that one can expect the unexpected…ghosts, magic, true love and more. In this holiday story Holly McGuire and Trey Reyes star and do find their way to a HEA.

Holly loved her husband Tommy and stayed with him through thick and thin giving up some of her dreams along the way. Having fulfilled her husband’s last request as mentioned in his will she is finally ready to move on and fulfill her biggest dream of all – to be a mother. Tommy’s compatriots from the military are a “band of brothers” and come together to send him off with Holly – in Marietta – where anything can happen.

Trey Reyes, one of the “brothers” has loved Holly since the first time he set eyes on her BUT he kept his longings to himself for nearly a decade. Knowing she was coming to town his agenda had more to do with wooing and winning Holly than saying goodbye to Tommy. With a bit of help from Mick (another brother) and some magical happenings there is hope for him and Holly in spite of a bit of a glitch.

Heartwarming, perhaps a bit predictable and definitely logic defying this is a fun holiday story that makes me want to read more about Marietta and all that can happen there. I wonder if more of the “brothers” will have stories of their own?

Thank you to NetGalley and Tule Publishing – This is my honest review.

I received this book as an ARC. I loved the beauty and the beast theme. All the characters were believable. There were very few spelling and grammatical errors. My only critique is I felt like the resolution to the main problem of the whole book was resolved way too quickly at the end.

Ali is one tough cookie, and I like her. Plus I am big into photography so I have to admit that this novel may have caught my attention due to that. She is a fighter who thinks she’s a runner, and it makes her someone interesting to read about.

Adam is a character I can appreciate because he’s multifaceted and has some very real trauma to deal with that does extend to his niece, Carrie. He is one of those people who does the right thing no matter what, and sometimes at cost to himself.

Carrie is a great secondary character, who actually goes through the most development out of any of the characters in this book. The thing I liked about her is she seems like a brat at first, until you realize why and then she becomes much easier to sympathize with.

The plot of this story is familiar, but it doesn’t seem too cliché. It is not slow burn, and does seem to be a rush to romance, but I am certainly not complaining as it was an enjoyable read with comfortable characters.
