Dylan Allen

This started pretty well with the heroine, Addie, living in London as a lawyer to escape the scandal surrounding her father, who absconded with millions of dollars in a fraudulent scheme. She meets Simon, a rising architect who has his own family issues. Almost immediately, there's instant lust which isn't my favorite trope, but I wanted to see where the family issues for the H/h settled out.
And they just sputtered with no real resolution or at least an explanation as to what happened with the father or Simon's sister. The writing was okay and it's a fairly short book, but I would have preferred more explanations of the issues and fewer sex scenes.… (más)

There is never a doubt that this author can weave words into a beautiful story with ease. She creates characters that are flawed and real. However, this story lost some of the it factor for me with the whole book being in the past. Especially, as the first chapter started out so amazing as it was setting up the telling of the love story. I'm hoping that there will be more in regards to the present or future in the next book.

Still enjoyable though. Just not my favorite of this author.… (más)
