Biografía breve
Caron Allan writes murder mysteries as well as cozy mysteries and paranormal mysteries. Caron lives in Derbyshire (Where Jane Austen set Mr Darcy's Pemberley), England, with her husband and an endlessly varying quantity of cats and sparrows. [retrieved 9/14/2018 from Amazon.com Author Page]

Caron Allan was born in Kent in the south of England and then moved to Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire before her family relocated to Brisbane, Australia. After living there for five eventful years, which provided plenty of material for Caron’s novels and short stories, the family returned to the UK in 2002. Although Caron mainly writes in the mystery/crime genre she also enjoys dabbling in fantasy fiction. Married with two grown up children and now living in Derbyshire, England, Caron previously worked as a railway ticket clerk, a classroom assistant, a secondhand bookshop assistant, an archivist, and a University administrator. When not plotting how to kill people (for the books, of course!) Caron can often be found trawling the aisles of her local grocery stores in pursuit of everyday items with lethal potential. Other interests include literary studies, history, cats, cooking, gardening, family tree research and chatting on Facebook. [retrieved 9/14/2018 from Amazon.com record for Criss Cross]

Dottie walks out of the theatre and finds a man on the ground, dying. His dying words are lyrics to the song, Night and Day. The investigation is very slow and is only used as a distraction for Dottie instead of as the plot. Nonetheless, the story is well written.

November 1933. Travelling home from an evening at the theatre Dottie Manderson comes across a dying man. But why will he not tell her who the guilty party is. D.S. William Hardy investigates.
Unfortunately more of a romance with not much of a mystery, and Dottie was a bit of a shallow creature.
Interest in the rest of the series will depend on the amount of mystery in the story. Though overall a decent start to a new cozy series.
