3006 To Go Free: A Treasury of Iowa's Legal Heritage, by Richard, Lord Acton and Patricia Nassif Acton (read 3 Sep 1997) I liked this book much. It is full of things, most of which I have known about, but this book tells these so as to make the book almost a history. Most of the book is made up of excerpts from statutes and court opinions. I was bothered by the extent of prejudice against all foreign languages during World War One. It seems so bigoted as to be another world! The book has an excellent account of Judge C. C. Bradley and his courage in LeMars in 1933. The book shows tumultuous years and I enjoyed it very much.… (más)
