- I would have this in my classroom so students can learn about a Dupatta and for those that wear one they can see themselves in a book.

I would say that this would be for a individual primary read or read aloud. This book talks about the meaning behind a cultural symbol and how much this symbol can mean to a community. This book can be super helpful by showing children it is ok to share and embrace your culture.

This picture book introduces the preparations a family might make for Ramadan. They clean and decorate, put out special dinnerware and colorful napkins, then bake food for their neighbors and themselves to break the fast. When the mother falls asleep on the last day before the holiday, the kids enlist their grandmother's help to make a treat for everyone. In the back of the book are five recipes and a helpful glossary of Arabic terms.
