3661. Sam Rayburn: A Biography, by Alfred Sternberg (read 6 Dec 2002) This biography may not be the best of its subject, but it was the one at our library and I found it high in interest. Especially of interest was the account of Rayburn's life before I began to follow political events--he came to the House in 1913 and was there till he died in 1961. This was easy and fun reading and its bibliography was full of books I would like to read. (
