A lizard who loves his home, a rock, returns home from playing with his friend Toad to find that a snake has taken it over. He tries to talk to Snake about it being his home, but Snake doesn’t give it back. No matter how reasonably Lizard explains about the fairness of giving him back his home, Snake insists it’s his home now. Lizard wears Snake down so he agrees to play a game of chance to decide who will keep the rock as his home. Lizard knows Snake is devious and will cheat, so he tricks him during the game and Lizard wins his home back. The story may be a little complicated for very young readers, but the repetition and charming illustrations will help them understand it. The soft colors and the expressive faces on the characters and the added details of musical notes, birds, and stars drawn in the background of the pictures are all ways the illustrations convey both the events and the light-hearted tone of the story. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
