I believe it was very insightful of what life is like as the First Family. It also goes through their every day routine, which shows they live a life more normal than people would expect. It was cool to learn that the daughters still have chores and play hide and seek like normal children do. I believe most people think the First Family is so proper and never has fun, but this biography proves otherwise. ( ) Unlike most biographies which focuses on one person, this one focuses of a whole family. This book is about the Obama Family. The book starts off with their transition into the White House. It gives a tour of the White House while kind of giving a daily routine of the family. I think anything regarding Barak Obama is good to read because he literally changed history. I think this book is good for younger audiences because the book isn't difficult to understand, The illustrations in this book also helps make the book interesting because it gives the audience a chance to see the White House without having to go there, I took 1/2 star off because I thought it'd give me more insight to the Obama's personally. It was pretty general though, mentioning the basics that almost anyone living in the White House would experience. It discussed the rooms of the White House and mentioned some semi-personal things about the Obama's, but nothing of notable significance. The paintings were gorgeous, and the writing was great. Following the Obamas through their first day in the White House of January 20th, 2009 as they learn the 132 rooms in this amazing historic home we get a look into a world most of us can only dream us with a family we all admire. You travel through the book and the White House with each page. It teaches us how the white house actually works and what the family does on the daily basis, I found all of this extremely interesting. Although I felt the book went a little too long to hold the attention of the reader, I thought with the Obamas as the main characters I would have more excitement, still wasn't disappointed just wasn't thrilled either. I liked this book because it gives readers an inside look at Obama's family and a day in the life of his presidency. I thinks students would also like this book because it is about someone famous and I'm sure they would be intrigued as to how he lives his life with his family. I would use this book in grades 3-5 on presidency and its many traditions. I would also use this book to teach about the White House. I could also use this book in a language arts class to make sure students are fluent readers. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
