Many years ago, I read Geneen Roth's "Breaking Free from Compulsive Eating," which was one of two books that I credit for really changing my life for the better. (The other one was "Your Erroneous Zones," by the late Dr. Wayne Dyer.) So she has all my respect and support for anything she does. So I am sad to say that this book didn't do anything for me. Considering the grandiose title, I found it uninspiring. I didn't care for the writing style or the focus on her retreats. I read later that Oprah Winfrey raved about it. (It's uncanny how opposite my taste is from Oprah's. I categorically dislike anything she recommends, even if I'm not aware that she has recommended it.) Great little book on eating disorders for women who wish to address this from a spiritual point of view by means of utilizing retreats or retreat-like experiences. Well written and to the point. Probably, more valuable as a framework for reflection than as an actual step-by-step program/self-help guide. Title may be misleading from another book similarly called Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert which was a memoir. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
