You just open up to the month you are in and you can browse the vegetables to be planted, the vegetables to be harvested, and the vegetables that need special maintenance. ( )

This book is pretty outdated at this point - I'm sure I have read at least 10 more recent gardening books that talk about growing month-by-month. This one also has the disadvantage of being decidedly not organic. The author refers to dosing his plants with diazinon, and uses commercial fertilizer instead of compost. ( )
