Personal; I loved reading this to my nephews, they were engaged with the weather since it brought up things they knew. For example, they knew if there was snow that it would be cold outside.
Extension: this would be a great reinforcement when you're teaching about the different kinds of weather you'll have in a year and why they are different. (
