The Time Lord battles the Sontarans, in this pacy novel from the bestselling Doctor Who range The Chelsea Flower Show - hardly the most exciting or dangerous event in the calendar, or so the Doctor thinks. But this is Chelsea 426, a city-sized future colony floating on the clouds of Saturn, and the flowers are much more than they seem.As the Doctor investigates, he becomes more and more worried. Why is shopkeeper Mr Pemberton acting so strangely? I love it when the Doctor meets an Alien species in the books that I have seen on the TV series.

This book was a lovely read and portrayed the Doctor and the Sontarans very well. Loved a bit of a back story between the Songarans and the Ratuns. This book I feel was well written and is on the list of my favourite Doctor Who books ( )

I think the title is very clever but the book itself was very average. I just didn't find it very interesting or exciting. ( )

On the positive side, it's got some interesting political points to make about society and propaganda and media, and conformity vs imdividualism. On the negative side, there are some very old-fashioned gender stereotypes among the human characters, the Sontarans and even more the Rutans are taken in a direction that isn't awfully consistent with what else we know about them, and the physics of locating a human colony on the surface of the planet Saturn may not have been completely thought through. (Located there for the hydrogen mines, you see.) So on the whole I'm afraid it's a thumbs down for this one. ( )

Doctor Who doesn't translate well to audiobook for me, it seems. I suspect if I'd ripped through the printed version, I would have enjoyed it more, but 5 hours was too much time spent on a story that didn't have enough going for it.It was still fun, but not an experience I'll hurry to repeat. ( )

The Tenth Doctor decides to take in a flower show. Saturn colony Chelsea 426 is holding it's first annual flower show to unveil the plants grown from spores discovered in Saturn's soupy atmosphere. But the plants aren't just plants. They're Rutans, bent on staging an ambush on their thousands-years enemies, the Sontarans. But the Sontarans have decided to get the drop first on the Rutans. The small colony dome is invaded both from within and without, and the inhabitants have no idea what's going on. Only the Doctor can save them!

Like lots of Doctor Who, fun and unlikely.
