When Lucian St Clare first meets Grace Hetherington it's at a stop on both their journeys. When he's finished his evening he's not exactly sober and he accidentally ends up in Grace's room, compromising her and leading to their being engaged. She's certain he's not the one for her and he's intrigued by her and determined to do the right thing.

It's not a bad read it just didn't really develop several plot streams, the deaths happening with Grace's family? Lucian's PTSDish stuff, just didn't all seem to work right. Also Grace was too stuborn and should have realised the situation she was in with society once she was compromised.
