although, for example, 'the Underdweller' is disturbing, dark, and an extremely fulfilling read, it borrows too much from Bradbury. "Hearts Blood," another Bradbury-esque story, excites, but doesn't deliver. some stories, like 'Boyfren,' are too contrived. his style is all over the place, and not necessarily for the better. (however, "Stoner," is an example of a contrivance that works.)
this book is worth reading, in any case. there are some gems in here. "and Miles to go Before i Sleep" is terrible and tragic. check it out. ( )
