NCLA Review - A lot of Christians would like to share the message of Jesus with others, but don’t know what to say, or do, or regard witnessing as intrusive. Evangelists Lee Strobel and Mark Mittleberg plainly show that anybody can do it. You need a willingness to listen to and care about others, patience, and sensitivity to the person and to the Holy Spirit’s nudges. The authors emphasize that “sealing the deal” with an invitation to accept Christ is only one link of a chain that leads to conversion. No person alone can take credit, or should feel responsible, for the end result. Conversion is God’s project, and we are but one of God’s tools. In forty anecdotal chapters, they give examples of everyday faith sharing—sometimes in surprising ways, some apparent goofs, most often with unknown effect. The authors suggest ways to be prepared for witnessing opportunities. Most of all, they convincingly present sharing the gospel as the most exciting adventure a Christian can have. Rating: 4 —DKW ( )
