To start with, I was really enchanted with this manga. The first chapter set up a great, classic fairy tale-esque story. Seemingly, a spoiled prince has a magic talking lizard. The prince makes the lizard trade places with him for a day, because he doesn't want the hassle of meeting with the princess who might become his queen. The lizard falls in love with the princess, and there you have the basis for the story.

Sadly, a big chunk of the main plot was wrapped up in the first chapter. The obstacle of the lizard pretending to be a prince is removed early on, taking away some of the tension and mystery. The other chapters are just sorta cute filler stories with the characters having mini-adventures. They don't really add to the main plot or the romance between the lizard prince and the princess.

However, I enjoyed the first chapter of this manga enough that I will be reading Volume 2. I hope it adds to the plot. Asuka Izumi has some good ideas and her artwork is great. I plan to check out her other work in the future. ( )
