Budge brings to his readers the most famous Mesopotamian myths and legends, such as mankind's first recorded story of the Creation, the Babylonian story of the Great Flood, and the adventures of the world's first epic hero, Gilgamesh. You can skip or skim several chapters dealing with list of kings, etc. without bypassing the more interesting aspects of Babalonian life style, culture, living conditions, etc. While it bogs down in details, on the whole a fast and informative read. ( )
