"When Mom told Evan about Jack Frost, I said I'd catch him too. Mom just laughed. She said no one could catch Jack Frost." Another pause.
"So you stayed up that night?" Kathy prompted. She had the strange feeling Johnny was trying to tell her something, but she didn't understand what.
"So I stayed up that night," Johnny agreed, face expressionless. "And I caught him - Jack Frost. Or rather he caught me."

Johnny Van Der Zee seems to have it all. He's handsome, popular and everyone around town knows an NHL scout will make him an offer soon. Even though Jack's power has diminished with global warming, in Iqaluit he's still powerful enough to work on this one boy. Johnny is going to help make the world a much colder place - a place where Jack will reign once more.

Nicole Luiken is one of my favorite YA authors. She hits you sometimes in an unexpected place and that's why I continue to read her. Frost is quite a short tale but so detailed and imaginative that images keep floating through my mind. I wish she would write more. ( )

Which part of the story cause the most intense feelings in you?
First, his parents were killed in a accident by Frost, then Frost made him crash his snowbobile to hurt Kathy, then Frost ade Johnny dump Cheryl for no reason and finally Frost made Johnny almost killed his brother Evan. But if his parents were killed in a accident, why wasn't Johnny and his brother killed? Frost can't get that to happen, he needed Johnny, he'll do ANYTHING to get Johnny to activate the bomb and make an ice age. But on the other hand, Cheryl was there, meanwhile Frost was controlling Johnny's mind, making him careless; but the ice was cracking from where Cheryl was standing, Johnny has to save her, she was the one Johnny always loved, not Kathy, but from Frosts demande of activating the bomb, Johnny didn't have a choice! It was either he activates the bomb and will be protected by Frost or save the one the always loved Cheryl, he has to chose one quick! ( )
