This is a sweet book that is appropriate for pregnancy loss even. Even though I don't necessarily believe in angels, I found the message sweet and comforting. We got this when we lost Mk.

WE WERE GONNA HAVE A BABY, BUT WE HAD AN ANGEL INSTEAD is a book about a brother who describes the loss of his unborn sibling. He discusses how he and his parents were really sad, and that he was confused himself. They made a box to pack some of the baby's things in it, and his mom cried a lot. They boy believes the mom was in more pan than the rest. The pictures in this book are not graphic. I thought how they still showed the baby in the mom's tummy was interesting, They tried to show the baby was a person even though the child had never seen or will be able to meet the sibling. The pictures really capture what is happening and how the family must feel. Overall I think this book we be a good book to show to a family who is going through the same thing to help explain the loss to a child, as well as try and comfort parents. ( )
