A sociological, mass movement based look at the Civil Rights Mvt and it's constituent alphabet soup parts: NAACP, CORE, SCLC, MIA etc. The interesting thing about this book is the many interviews the author had with major civil rights figures towards the end of their careers: about 1979. At times, he digresses in jargon, for example, he identifies that the "white power structure" of the south opposed the NAACP and thereby coalesced people around it (a circle the wagons mentality), but fails to adequately identify what exactly COMPRISED this power structure. Still, a powerful book and recommended as a fine expose of the grass roots movement that was the Civil rights moment. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
