A new assistant principal takes the wheel of the magic school bus, chasing after Ms. Frizzle to tell her that an important meeting is tonight, not tomorrow. The class, along with Mr. Wilde, takes a "wild" ride through a policeman's eye, a little boy's ear, a dog's nose, Ms. Frizzle's taste buds and brain, all to learn about the five senses: seeing/sight, hearing/sound, smell, touch, and taste. Readers learn about parts of the eye (cornea, retina, optic nerve), ear (eardrum, cochlea, bones, auditory nerve), and other senses and parts of the brain. Informative and entertaining, as usual. The book Magic School Bus Explores the Senses is about the five senses: touch, hear, taste, smell and see. The class is preparing a song about the senses for a parent teacher conference and Ms. Frizzle thinks the meeting is tomorrow but the meeting is actually that night. Mr. Wilde and the class go on a wild adventure to try to catch up to Ms. Fizzle. They go through an eye, an ear, a tongue and even a dog's nose. I enjoyed this book because had several side notes about how animals use their senses and the book has a sense of humour. I would use this book for a five part mini science lesson. This book can be used for a unit regarding the 5 senses and how they work together in the body to keep it functioning. This will bring students knowledge of the different systems that are present in the human body. Students would be able to engage in a health lesson that would work with the vocab and ideas from the previously frontloaded information on the body. Students could have investigation stations and interact with each of the 5 senses that work together in the body. This book is about Ms. Frizzle and her students riding the magic school bus to Ralphie's house and then inside his body, when he has to stay home sick from school. The students examine Ralphie's nose in particular and travel through his body examining why he is sick. The students also look at Ralphie's blood and they question Ms. Frizzle about things such as being able to see the germs that made him sick through his blood. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
