Emmerson wrote another Eighth Doctor book which I read earlier this year, Casualties of War; this one is similar in the setting - alien presence, which venal local human leaders try to exploit, not realising that it will do them no good - but a little more body horror and perhaps a bit less plot. Still, decent enough. ( )
