But, she never thought she would have an occasion to wish for such a power for her own benefit until her father promises her hand in marriage to an uptight English Lord she would rather have nothing to do with. When Annie's brother, Tod, appears to her in her greatest hour of need she believes him to be her knight in shining armor. Even though Tod never had a desire to be anyone’s knight, he finds himself unable to forget the desperation of Devonny Stratton. In spite of himself, he decides to use Time to do the unthinkable and try to save the damsel in distress. Unlike the first two books of the series, I was a bit fonder of the heroine here. Despite her condescending attitude toward the “lower class”, which can be forgiven by upbringing in her century, I thought Devonny was pretty likable and adapted well to the circumstances of the story. In this particular book there were some more surprising character developments than in the past ones. I certainly didn’t expect as much from Winnie as we wound up getting. My favorite character, despite his very small part in the story, had to be the young Italian stoneworker, Gianni Annello. I was a bit disappointed that we never did find out why his name turned up in the future. Overall, I think this one was my favorite story yet of the series despite the absence of my previous favorite character. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
