I am convinced that Eno will be remembered as one of the great composers of the 20th century, and a definitive biography of him is more than welcome. On the other hand, this is not a terribly readable book; it's about a hundred pages too long, and goes into too meticulous detail on some tangents which could have been covered adequately in a paragraph. Most of Eno's career for the past twenty years or so has been pretty abstruse, and the book usually doesn't have the admittedly difficut gift of making his output more interesting to read about than it is to listen to.
