Received this book as part of the goodreads giveaway.

The premise was good and the transalation even better and that Isuppose sums up my experience of the book. The story was a drag and I found it very difficult to get into it. The central character of Rudolph Heinz did not win my sympathy despite him having a tragic past and all that.

The plot dragged in places and there was a desparate attempt to run a parallel between the murder investigation and also that of the profiler. It did not do justice to both. A crime thriller doesn't necessary have to stock on gore and violence and this seems to go overboard with it.

I was really impatient stuck to it only because I do not like to leave a book midway. The only thing that kept me going was the transalation. I liked it better than the story,if at all it is possible to.

Przeciętne czytadło. Akcja obraca się wokół modnego ostatnio tematu gejów w Kościele. Głównym bohaterem jest profiler, czyli specjalista od portretów psychologicznych, co dawało nadzieję na nieco inne ujęcie tematu "kryminał". Niestety, Rudolf Heinz niczym nie różni się od zwykłego gliniarza-detektywa i gdyby nie kilka wzmianek o poprzednich akcjach, to można by śmiało zamienić słowo "profiler" na "detektyw" czy też "śledczy" i nikt by się nie zorientował. Sam bohater nie wzbudza ani sympatii ani zainteresowania - tu zapali, tam wypije, temu w mordę strzeli. Tyle o tym. ( )
