Diane is a Frenchwoman (daughter and wife of soldiers) and the first story, which is the most arresting, finds her fighting a duel to save her own honor. Stories also cluster around a mysterious French countess and a prosaic Parisian detective. Fun. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Not so mysterious in fact, the only murder dates from 15 years ago (and the culprit has confessed), the thefts are not real, duels are not to death. Inspecteur Joly has not much to do. A pleasant read however. ( )
