A book where Hannah Hurnard uses an autobiographical mode to illustrate her experience of how we hear from God. She tells of her early battles with stammering and fear that cut her off from God and man and her transformation following liberation from both through surrender to God. How does one start to hear the voice of God--obedience. "A hearing heart depends upon an utter willingness to obey, the whole time, in tiny details as well as big ones. If one hears the voice of God, it should mean obedience, and if one obeys one will hear." What can cause people to choose such an act of surrender? According to Hannah Hurnard the answer is overwhelming joy which follows each act of obedience. Her life as a missionary to Palestine is a living illustration of such a life. ( ) Hannah tells the story of her early years - her family, how she came to be a Christian, Bible college, years as a mission worker in England and Ireland, and finally in Israel (then known as Palestine - 1936-1940. She bares her soul in this book, describing the familiar struggle we feel as we surrender to God's spirit. If you love her books, you need to read this too. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
