Cute story about a cat and dog who cannot be separated from one another. Maggie, the dog, and Max, the Kitty, are left at shelter with a note asking that they be taken care of. The Petersons who foster animals until they are adopted take Maggie and Max home. The adventure begans as they try to separate the two so as to make adoption easier. The two are adorable and a surprise solution is in the works for the pair.
There is also a side story about families who are homeless as well. Young readers who like animal stories should enjoy this tale of the hapless twosome. The book is recommended for 2nd to 4th grade readers. ( )
