A brother and sister from the Isle of Skye are sent to Williamsburg after stirring up trouble with the English army occupying Scotland. Hijinks ensue when they find themselves staying with distant relatives who are English loyalists.

This is a truly delightful book. Sally Watson has a clever wit and her humor make this an engaging read. Her characters are drawn so well - by the end of the book, I really felt that I knew Lauchlin, Ronald, Andrew, and Cecilia. There's a hint of romance, but its addressed with humor, is not overdone and doesn't take over the plot. ( )
